Megan Maczko is an award-winning writer-director and critically acclaimed actress. Born and raised outside of Detroit, her training and artistic curiosities led her to New York, LA and London, where she grew into a filmmaker.

Megan’s interest in the flaws that make us human inspires her love for acting and her richly-drawn characters. As a writer-director, her work takes those characters into worlds that explore the beauty and tension between the known and the can-never be-known; the drama and absurdity that arise when we value the systems that puppeteer us over one another; and the conflicts that crop up when we’re told the world is black and white, but experience life in every shade of grey.

Her short films have screened internationally including at BAFTA and Oscar-qualifying festivals, earning writing and directing accolades along the way. Her short film, FJÄLLNÄS, was awarded a six-figure commission from the renowned Alpine Fellowship and her commercials have been viewed by millions.

Megan’s currently in development on a slate of bold projects including, CHRONIC, a documentary feature that explores the effects of high-potency cannabis on the machinations of the mind and, GOOD PEOPLE, a satire set in an idyllic village where a shunned couple return in disguise to seek revenge, long-listed for The Lynn Shelton Grant.

As an actress, Megan has worked in film, commercials and London’s West End with some of the most celebrated directors in the industry (Richard Linklater, Tom Tykwer, Robert Icke, Neil LaBute, Thea Sharrock, among others). Her work as a voice over artist has been featured in video games (HORIZON: ZERO DAWN), animation (RON’S GONE WRONG) and most recently opposite Emilia Clarke & Chiwetel Ejifor in Sophie Barthes’ THE POD GENERATION.

Ms. Maczko holds degrees from the University of Michigan and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She divides her time between the U.S. and the U.K.
